"You can choose what stays and what fades away
And I'd do anything to make you stay" Florence + the Machine
I started this illustration for greeting the 2th of November, "Dia de Muertos", but due to work I could no finish it on time.
I have never been a believer myself, but I really like this celebration, where the past-away beloveds are wellcomed back for one night. Oh, and sugar skulls, I also love that too. I wish I could believe in that. Well If you have to believe in anything, better if it is... sweet ^____^
The girl concept was supposed to be a kind of self-portrait. But as always she ended being nothing like me XD Except for cothes maybe, and the super-rounded face. If you want to see her face before make-up here you got it: [link]
For the backgroud I took lots of references from mexican altars, but in the end I just painted candles and flowers...and lots of apples >___< wich is far from being a real altar.
Hope you like it despite being a bit out of date.
